4/25/1934-Purchase of “Wakesau” is approved.
The Legislative Committee on Metropolitan affairs has voted favorably on the bill to purchase for recreational purposes the plot of land known as the Breakheart section bordering on the Wakefield-Saugus line near Castle Rock, at a cost not to exceed $25,000.
Rep. M.E.S. Clemons of Wakefield and Rep. C.F. Nelson Pratt of Saugus Sponsored the bill.
The area in Saugus is best known here by the name of “Wakesau”. It comprises about 200 acres.
The sum of $50,000 was asked in the original appropriation.
